I've lived in Maine almost all my life and I've never known a sailboat to stay in the water throughout winter. The only reason the lobster/fishermen do it is because it's how they make there living. But I'm from Minnesota and know there are liveaboards there that survive the winters on the Mississippi, so there must be someone in Maine. I don't have a lot of experience but would love to learn...
